multiple player games? |
|
Hello all from the center of KK games in the northern hemisphere, Dayton-Ohio,
Sometimes we get an odd number of player for are Saturday games at the Krystal Keep. (See I do know the name of the of the place.) So one person sits out that day; or we play two one. Rob (From Russia fame. ) Came up with a outline for rolling initiatives. The armies were 1000 points of Prussians, and 1000 points of British. The French, (The good guys.) had 2000 points The French also had a class three AG. It seemed like all the advantages were to the French. I was a little embarest about the direction of the game. Have you guys down South developed rules for multiple player games?
Best Regards,
Bob J.

There are 2 points to consider here.
1. If there are multiple players on a side then allocate one player as the army general. All others are Sub generals. If the other generals (Now Sub Generals) purchased, cost more than a Class 0 general then those points may be made up with extra troops if they have them readily available, if not, well a few chance de guerre may help balance the points differnece as well!
2. Multiple players or larger games should work along the following lines:
Take all the Generals and Sub Generlas of both sides and add them together, then divide the number rounded down by 2 (for each side). This will give you how many formations can be activated each initiative by a side. Eg 2 Army generals and 3 Sub Generals divided by 2 rounded down wil be 2 formations activated by a side each initiative roll.
Next deciding which formations may act, when playing multiple initiatives. Each General, whether a Sub or army must be allocated formations to command. For every initiative a formation under each command must act up to the total number of formations allowed for for the game. Eg. If there are 2 formations allowed to activate each initiative, and there is an army general and a Sub General then the army general will activate one formation and the sub generla will activate the other formation. This will continue till both or all have no formations left to activate.
If there are more generals than formations allowed to activate each initiative then \ different commands must be allocated activations. Also if a command no longer has any formations left to activate then the activations per intitiative are divided up amongst the remaining commands...
Hope that helps.
